Ethelda I Nelson

Ethelda I. Nelson, 84, of Shepherd, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, in Shepherd, Texas. She was born on Saturday, November 7, 1931 in Shepherd, Texas, to John Frank Manuel and Dorothy Viola (Carter) Manuel, both of whom have preceded her in death. Ethelda was also preceded in death by her spouse, of 37 years, Frederick (Fred) Nelson,Sr..; brother, Edward Manuel, SR.; sister, Joyce Birmingham. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Pamela Whitmire and husband Melvin; brothers, Vernon Manuel, Gerald Manuel and wife Patsy, Donnis Hunter and wife Charlene; sisters, Mathilda Johnson, and Jackie Manuel; grandchildren, Justin Whitmire and wife Elisha, Hannah Whitmire; grandchildren, Fiona, Reeve, Garrett, and Benjamin Whitmire; along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for Ethelda will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the United Pentecostal Church of Shepherd at 10:00 am. Interment for Ethelda will immediately follow at Rosewood Cemetery, in Porter, Texas. Rev. Gregary Gerald and Rev. Henry Preston, officiating.
