John Whitmire Obituary

John Vance Whitmire, 74, of Cleveland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was born on Monday, August 10, 1942 in Pelly, Texas. John was preceded in death by his mother, Vera (Lay) Whitmire; brothers, Horace and Nolan Whitmire; sisters, Virginia Wells and Beatrice Holloway. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 33 years Geneva Whitmire; daughters, Wanda Walters and husband Robert, and Vicki Chapman; son, Melvin (Bubba) Ray and wife Julie; brother, Joel Whitmire; sister, Helen Smith; grandchildren, Courtney Miller and husband Jared, Zachary Chapman, Madison Chapman, Hunter Ray and Gracie Ray; great-grandchildren, Grayson Miller, and Owen Miller. Numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and treasured friends. Visitation for John will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at Neal Funeral Home on Friday October 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Brother Ernie Parker and Brother A.V. Walters Officiating.
