Floyd Vickery Sr. Obituary

Floyd Ray Vickery Sr. of Cleveland, Texas, entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on Tuesday, January 2, 1951, in Anahuac, Texas, to James Devoe Vickery and June Allison Vickery, both of whom have preceded him in death. Floyd was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Mosier, E.J. Mosier, Dean Mosier, Tyle Mosier, and David Vickery; sister, Ruby Spacek, and son, Floyd Ray Vickery (Buddy), Jr.  Floyd was raised in Romayor, Texas and attended school in Hardin, Texas. At a young age, Floyd loved riding horses and working with his father logging. He graduated in 1969, and not long after, met the love of his life, Jannis, and spent the next 54 years in loving bliss. In his free time, Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising and processing his own pork, gardening, operating equipment, reading and studying God's word, spending time with his family, and cooking some tasty bar-b-que. In 2003, he became a licensed member of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ (ALJC). Floyd was a hard worker. He was a builder, building his own church - GFA - with his own blood, sweat, and tears.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving spouse Jannis Vickery; two daughters, Rena and husband Doug Tenney, Sarah and husband Tony Mudd; son, Steve Vickery and wife Robin; eleven grandchildren, Justin and wife Kassandra, Hana and husband Joah, Emma, Casey and husband Michael, Devin, Craig and wife Laina, Alex, Abby, Aidan, Bryce, Cora; 12 great grandchildren, two siblings, Jimmy Bull and Glen Ellis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous other loving family and treasured friends.
