Marilyn Lord Obituary

Today we are honoring the beautiful, silly, funny, and spiritual Marilyn Joyce Hageman Lord. Marilyn is preceded in death by her spouses, Alexander Lord, and Charles Hayes. Those she is leaving behind or survived by, are her siblings; Gerri Hillman with her children (Ron, Kathy, and Margie), and Walter and Victoria Hageman. She is also survived by her children, Mike, and Cathie Hayes with their children (Kayla, Holly, Garrett, Jayson, and Adam); Wendy and Marius Landman with their children (Usale, Zachary, and Joshua); Tami and Joe Danysh with their children (Sacha with her husband Jamie, Christin, Heide, Courtney, James, Amanda, Charles, and Joseph); Cheri and James Loving with their children (James, Maci, Shelbi) and Alexandra (Lord) Montalvo with her children, Emily, and Aryelle.

Marilyn was very loved her whole life and surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1940, she was the oldest of 3 children, so it became evident it was “her way” or the “highway”! If anything sums “Marilyn” up it, was she CELEBRATED LIFE! She always loved birthdays and any other party she could attend or create. She married Charles Hayes early in life and had 4 kids quite close together. Mike, Wendy, and Tami are 1 year apart, and Cheri came in over 3 years later. Marilyn was dedicated to her life as a mother, however managed to take on a position at a chiropractor’s office, and then became a knowledgeable and successful real estate agent for many years at Martin Realtors in New Caney, Texas. She LOVED gardening and soaking up the sun more than other things while EATING food made with love took over as number 1 later on. Her favorite pastime fun was Scrabble and I do believe she was the reigning champ – Tiera and all. Marilyn was christened as a Lutheran in Detroit, but also went to several other Christian denominations with Charle, such as Methodist, and then settled in the Baptist church with her second husband, Alexander Lord. Their last church and pastor was Brother “Bo” Owens at Fairdale Baptist Church, close to the lake house they had. Both Marilyn and Alex became volunteers in the church – Marilyn was in the Clown Ministry, but I do believe her most enjoyable event (and her grandchildren will agree), was Vacation Bible School! Watching her beloved grandkids having so much fun and hearing what they did and learned gave her much JOY. After she became a widow, she was able to live the past of her life in Australia! Talk about fun in the sun! She loved the train rides into the city of Brisbane, but her favorite was the water wheelchair in the ocean. She made friends quickly while making a lasting impression on many of her careers, notably Mandalynn in Houston, and in Australia, Shajin Jabber, who for 4 years cared for her. Her favorite TV Pastor was Greg Laurie and bless her heart, tried to sing, but the scripture does say, “Make a Joyful NOISE” until to the Lord! She only just returned, as you all know only 3 weeks ago, but was able to see most of her immediate family in those 3 weeks. She struggled for years with Parkinson’s, survived many falls, as well as Covid, but fought for every breath until the morning of Thursday, March 7, at 8:50 am. Missing her is an understanding, but we look forward to rejoicing with her again for all those who have received and confessed Yeshua/Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.
Our hearts are glad that she can SEE, Walk, and even RUN again in paradise.

As we move forward into new chapters, keep your eyes on the prize as the scriptures say  “Think on things above, NOT on things of the earth, for you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who IS your life, appears then you also will appear with him in glory.

Graveside service only at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas will be on Sunday, March 17 at 2pn. Fellowship and food to follow at the Community Center just up the road.
