W C Vann "Cleo" Obituary

W C Vann "Cleo" entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the age of 95. W C Vann "Cleo" was born in San Jacinto County, Texas, on March 13th, 1929. He was the sixth child of Floyd Vann and Annie Lee Vann. He grew up in San Jacinto County. At the age of 17, he joined the Army and served a short time. Later he was drafted into the Army and discharged in 1952. In 1953, he married Bobby Rivers, in Houston, TX. During their seventy years of marriage, they had a daughter, Karen Jean, who is married to Bobby Webster, and a son, William Mark. He is also survived by five grandchildren Kevin Webster and wife Jenn, Kirk Webster and wife Jennifer, Christin Williams and husband Daniel, Marlinda Vann, and Kate Webster. Blessed with nine great-grandchildren Anna, Abby, Lucas, Jasper, Kenley, Josey, Kolvann, Lila, Molly Kate, Katelynn, Keagan, and Kaeden. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Vann, and Judy Vann, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bula Mae Hinson, Faye Lilley, Alice Murry, and Mattie Richards; brothers, Lloyd Vann, Horace Vann, and A.J. Vann.

Cleo was a "worker", and before going into the Army, he worked with his father and brothers in the Logging Business and tried other things. In 1958, he went to work with Otis Elevator Company and retired in 1990. After having lived in Houston and Roman Forest for years, he returned to San Jacinto County for retirement. He has enjoyed his years here, being with his family and enjoying his relatives. His hobby was "work" and he created many projects, as well as "The Lawn". 

At an early age, he accepted Christ at the Magnolia Baptist Church and supported the church for years in his youth. After marriage, he and Bobby placed their membership with Lake Forest Christian Church. Since returning to the country, he has attended Magnolia Baptist Church. He leaves behind a loving family, relatives, and forever friends who will miss him greatly.

Visitation for Cleo will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at Neal Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Bald Prairie Cemetery at 3:00 PM in Franklin, TX.
