Briton Alan Anaston

June 25, 1959 — February 3, 2024

Briton “Butch” Alan Anaston entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the age of 64. He was born on June 25, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to Joseph Newton Buehne and Emily Francis Taylor. Butch-aka “Dad, or Uncle Butch, a man of many hats. Butch was a dedicated husband to Vickie for 44 years, a dad to 4 daughters, a brother, an uncle, and a friend.  Butch considered everyone he knew as family, and everyone was welcome. He cherished his kids, his grandkids, his great-grandkids, and any other kids that came in his path. When he was not working, he explored a variety of talents and hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking, driving his tractor, and soaking up the scenery of his backyard. When Butch said “I have an idea”, you better get a drink and sit down, because there probably will not be any logic behind it LOL.  He learned to Pinterest after retirement, and took every idea, to create one big one, with no real clear path to get there.  He recently went and bought a kitchen aide mixer, and was going to make bread.  He found a recipe, and when it failed, he called his daughter to ask why, and was disappointed when it didn’t rise.  He revealed that he left out ½ of the steps, and never attempted to make bread again. Butch was incredibly talented, the only problem is, you never saw the finished product, you only saw about 90% before he was no longer interested. He has tried his hand in jelly making, making wooden pens, playing the harmonica, and duck calling. He spent many years restoring the upholstery in classic cars, and even won awards and trophies for. He had big ideas, just all at once.  LOL Many remember dad on deep sea fishing trips, sitting among the crawfish boils at the house, and even cheering on his favorite team on Sunday watching football. There was no shortage of friends and family when he was home from the railroad on his off days. Butch was not afraid of hard work and was an incredible mentor to many young men throughout the years, many considered him to be “like a dad”. Butch was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vickie Lynn Anaston; parents; and brother, Joseph Clifford Buehne. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Amanda Bryant and husband Kyle, Amy Bringol and husband Robert, Ashley Slade, Jessica Baughman and husband Kirk, and Adam Coleman and wife Kelly; stepmother, Alice Buehne; brothers,  Alan Anaston and wife Sue, Douglas Buehne and wife Sherry, and Eugene Buehne and wife Cindy; sister, Jolene Meyer; grandchildren, Jessica Wilburn and husband Rodney, Katelynn Coleman, Alexis Bryant, Emily Bryant, Richelle Bryant, Zane Bryant, Kristopher Bauer and wife Arely, Jake McIntyre, Andrew Baughman, Peyton Baughman, Brittainy Bringol, Anthony Bringol, Luke Chiles, Ethan Chiles, Khloe Carroll, Karlee Carroll, Karson Slade, Cooper Coleman, Kaitlyn Louviere, Sydney Philen and husband Kody, and Jordan Rambo and husband Tyler Elderinghoff; great-grandchildren, Easton, Treyson, Atlas, and Olivia; Butch’s dog and best friend, Stitch; and a host of loving family and treasured friends.
