Frances Beckham

December 12, 1937 — July 24, 2023

Porter, Texas

Frances Beckham (Anderson)

was born in Moonshine Hill, Texas, on December 12, 1937. While in her earlier years she moved to El Campo and graduated high school there. After high school she decided to go to Sam Houston State University to become a teacher. In the 60’s just 7 to 8% of women obtained a college degree. It was uncommon back then for a lot of women to acquire a degree. Frances was very passionate in teaching, which led her to teach for many years.

Frances was the matriarch of her little family. She had four daughters which were Lois, Lisa, Lauri, and Rebecca. Then she went on to become a grandmother to Dustin, Jason, Zachary, Hope, Christopher, Brandon, and David. As time went on she watched her family grow and became a great grandmother to Charlie, Riley, Isabella, Bailey, and Jaxson. It was family that she loved the most. She especially loved the times she could spend with everyone.

Anytime you were to come across Frances it was likely to see her in a goofy hat to go with her corky personality or dress to the nines with her jewelry. She always lit up the room no matter where you were, with her stories/jokes. You always knew it was story time when she leaned back in her chair, intertwining her fingers and says “let me tell you” (that’s when you knew you were going to be there for the long hall.) She never met a stranger. If it was up to her she would talk all day long. She’s one of the most loving and kindhearted individuals you could have ever met.

She will be tremendously missed for her love, her light, her personality, and how she did anything and everything for the people she loved. Also, you can’t forget those long and amazing phone conversations.

Today we honor Frances Beckham (Anderson) the matriarch of a large family, starting with Lois Beckham and Kenneth Boing, Lisa McKinney, Rebecca Mark and her grand children Dustin and Ashley Zimmerman, Jason and Elizabeth Zimmerman, Zachary Norris, Hope Beckham, Christopher Norris, Brandon McKinney, and David Bond. Great grandchildren Charlie, Riley, Isabella, Bailey, and Jaxson. Frances/Nanny was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
