Albert Malloy Jolin, 73, passed away on October 27, 2026.
Born on December 8, 1952, Albert was raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Aldine High School in 1972. He was a faithful servant to the Lord and a devoted member of Happy Life Church in Cleveland, Texas. His faith shaped the way he lived each day. He trusted in Jesus, carried himself with humility, and did everything he could for anyone who needed him. Those who knew him will remember a man who was always happy, steady in spirit, and generous in heart.
Albert also shared his gifts through music. He was a singer and played the bass, and he became especially known for singing “Ain’t no grave gonna hold my body down.” At times, his voice even sounded like Elvis, a quality that brought joy to those around him. Outside of church and music, he loved watching movies and playing video games. He also dearly loved his dog, Butterball, who went everywhere with him. He enjoyed listening to Michael Combs songs, and these simple pleasures were part of the life he embraced so warmly.
Above all, Albert cherished his family. He is survived by his daughters, Gendi Jolin and Amy Jolin. He also leaves behind his sister, Beverly Jolin, and his brother, William Jolin Jr. Albert’s memory will live on in his grandchildren, Johnny Wilkerson Jr., Lexie Wilkerson, Kristen Brandin, Kyle Brandin Jr., Bobby Wilkerson Jr., Bryan Wilkerson, Michael Wilkerson, Hailey Brandin, Keith Brandin Jr., Patrick Ryan, and Emma Lee Lowe. Each of them carries forward the love and example he gave so freely.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Jolin; his father, William Jolin; his mother, Lois Jolin; his brother, Ervin Dale Russel; and his sister, Billie Jean Russel. Their memories remained part of his life and story, and they now welcome him home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Happy Life Church, 24601 Hwy 321, Cleveland, TX 77327.
Albert Malloy Jolin will be remembered for his faith, his music, his kindness, and the peace with which he lived. His life was a blessing to his family, his church, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
