Born on September 16, 1960, in Houston, Texas, Arvie lived a life marked by dedication to family, strong work ethic, and a love for the simple joys of the outdoors.

Arvie’s journey began under the loving guidance of his parents, the late Arvie Gene Luckey Sr. and Frankie Irene Land Luckey. Their values and support helped shape his steadfast character—a quality further exemplified throughout his life and career.

He built an impressive career, retiring as a superintendent master welder from Union Pacific Railroad, Union Tank Car. His skill and leadership earned him admiration and respect among colleagues, as he became known not only for his dedication to his craft but also for his reliability and integrity. Arvie took pride in his work, ensuring every task met the highest standard and did so with a humility that made him a mentor to many.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Arvie was best known for his deep appreciation of nature and his knack for creating memorable moments with loved ones. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, sharing both the thrill of a good catch and the quiet reflection only found along riverbanks and in woodlands. His daughters fondly remember days when dad would be building barbecue pits before there was even talk of “Pit Boss Pits”—a testament to his resourcefulness and his passion for bringing people together around good food. Arvie was an excellent cook, and his family celebrations often centered around his grill, where laughter and stories filled the air.

Arvie’s legacy is illuminated by the love of his family, among whom he is deeply mourned. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tina Gale Luckey, his first love, who stood faithfully by his side throughout life’s journey. His memory lives on through his daughters, Jamie Fox and her husband Bobby, and Pamela Courtemanche and her husband Albert, who carry forward the lessons and warmth he imparted. Arvie’s sister, Bridgett Thomas and husband Hank, and brother, William Luckey and wife Charlyn, also mourn his passing, remembering the lifelong bonds of siblinghood. His grandchildren—Jason Harris, Kyle Harris, Savanna Harris, Fletcher Courtemanche, and Kayden Fox—were a true delight to him; their smiles and stories always brought light to his days. He is also survived by other loving family members and a host of friends.

Family and friends will gather to honor Arvie’s life and legacy with a visitation on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, TX 77327. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment taking place thereafter at Bear Creek Cemetery, 10870 Farm to Market Road 1725, Cleveland, TX 77328.
