IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Jeanette
Jones
June 28, 1943 – December 25, 2025
Barbara Jeanette Jones, a cherished matriarch whose heart knew no bounds, departed this world on December 25, 2025, at the age of 82, in Cleveland, Texas. Born on June 28, 1943, in Paris, Tennessee, Barbara's life was a testament to humility, hospitality, and unyielding strength.
As a devoted homemaker, Barbara shaped the lives of her family with an unwavering commitment to instilling values of kindness and humility. Her home was a sanctuary, always open to friends, family, and anyone in need, inviting all to experience the warmth that radiated from her kitchen. A passionate cook, she quipped, "You know it's done when the smoke detector goes off," echoing her laughter that often filled the air as tantalizing aromas enveloped her loved ones.
Known for her candidness, Barbara was a straight shooter who spoke her mind without hesitation. Though small in stature, her physical strength and powerful spirit resonated much larger, balancing every piece of unsolicited advice with sincerity that was as comforting as it was challenging. She was a gossiper, to be sure, but more importantly, she was a selfless beacon of light – the embodiment of unconditional love for everyone who graced her life.
Barbara took immense joy in vacationing with her family, reveling in memories crafted under sunny skies and starry nights. She embraced every moment with a quick wit and an open heart, teaching valuable lessons in both love and laughter along the way. Her contagious spirit of generosity and resilience marked her as a faithful servant of the Lord, leaving a legacy that will forever echo within those she cherished.
Barbara joins her beloved husband, John Thomas Jones Sr, who left this earthly realm after their 64 years together, as well as her father, Gaylon Dallas Thompson, mother, Mary Alice Markham, dear sister Robbie Gayle Daniels, and daughter-in-law Deborah Lynn Jones, in the eternal embrace of peace.
Surviving Barbara are her three proud sons: John Thomas Jones Jr, William Dallas Jones, and Daniel Whitley Jones, alongside their devoted wives, Laura and Heather respectively. Also mourning her loss are her loving siblings: Charles Gaylon "Butch" Thompson and wife Vicky, Elizabeth Marie Bryant, Pamela Sue Dubose and husband Tommy, and Debbie Dee Ralson and husband Terry. The love she cultivated is reflected in her grandchildren: Tiffany Raye and husband Shawn Michael Henderson, Gary Edward Jones, Christopher Alan Norris, Jessica Lynn Jones, William Dallas Jones, Jacob Thomas Jones, Jasmine Alexander Ibarra, and Jose Alfredo Ibarra Jr. Furthermore, her influence extends to her great-grandchildren: Aiden Edward Jones, Peyton Marie Henderson, Emily Me'chelle Henderson, Carter Wayne Henderson, and Ashton Joseph Jones.
Barbara Jeanette Jones will be profoundly missed, her legacy etched in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit living on in the stories shared around family tables. As we remember her with love and reverence, let us carry forward the lessons she imparted and the warmth she so freely shared, lighting the paths of those who follow.
