Betty was an excellent student and proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.  She worked as a library assistant both in Orlando and at Nacogdoches High School.  Her devotion extended beyond her school involvement.  She was an accomplished pianist, playing for numerous functions in her earlier years, and almost became a concert pianist.

Her devotion extended beyond well school and piano.  She was a faithful servant to the Lord, exemplified by serving at church in the nursery, youth, and college and young adults.  She was a wonderful mother, outstanding cook, and loved opening her home to others.  Betty had a natural gift for creating joyful experiences, whether it was planning vibrant birthday parties, organizing church events including Valentine Banquets, or hosting cherished family celebrations.

She is survived by her children, Mark Wayne Peterson and wife Janice, Duke Peterson and wife Mary, and daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Peterson.  Betty was a proud grandmother to Matthew Peterson and wife Tayra, Luke Peterson and wife Ashley, Marshall Peterson and wife Shannon, Brian Peterson, Sarah Peterson Smith and husband Dicky Lee, and an adoring grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren.  In addition she is remembered fondly by her nieces, Stephanie Stadler and husband Jeff, Ashley Eckert and husband Mark, as well as other loving relatives and a host of friends who will miss her dearly.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband H.H. "Cotton" Peterson;, her father Ramsey Wayne Webb;  her mother Lela Webb Wright;  her sister, Linda Smith; her son Paul Peterson and her husband, Angelo Lostracco.

Betty Peterson Lostracco leaves behind a legacy of love, kindnes, and commitment to family and friends that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Her spirit will continue to inspire those she loved, and her memory will remain a guiding light for generations to come.
