Billy Rea Sample

Billy Rea Sample, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passing peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 12, 1938, Billy lived a life marked by love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends.

Billy is survived by his four cherished children: Jason Sample, Alicia Goldsmith, and John Sample, along with his wife Pamela. His legacy continues through his grandchild, Hannah Sample, who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his brothers, Travis Sample and Aubrey Neal, who were constant companions and confidants throughout his life.

Billy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Aurbin and Nellie Sample, and his sons, James Sample and Larry Sample. Their memories remained a guiding influence in his life, shaping the values he instilled in his own children and grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on July 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at the Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects as we celebrate the remarkable life of this remarkable man.

Billy Rea Sample will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
