Catarina Quintanilla Ceja, a beloved member of her community and cherished matriarch, was born on December 18, 1943, in Rancho De La Luz, San Fernando Tamaulipas, Mexico. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family and faith.

As a loving wife, greatest mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Catarina's life was a testament to the values she held dear. Her husband, Jose Diaz Ceja, was a source of strength and companionship throughout their life together. She was a proud mother to her only daughter, Nelly Aracely De La Rosa and her husband Armando De La Rosa, Jr., who brought her endless joy. Catarina's devotion to her family extended beyond her immediate relatives, as she is also survived by her siblings Maria Quintanilla Palma and her husband Augustin, Guadalupe Quintanilla Ortiz and her husband Ramon, Maria Oralia Resendiz Vasquez, and sister-in-law Martha I. Ortiz. Catarina found warmth and fulfillment in the love of her grandchildren; Nicole Gabriella Ceja, Mariah Natalie Guzman, Nicholas Alexander De La Rosa and his wife Karla, and Nadia Celest De La Rosa, as well as her great-grandchildren, Valerie Grace Pemberton, Arianna Nevaeh Guzman, and her (Bonito Boy) Dominic Sebastian Garcia. Additionally, she left behind numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends who will remember her kind spirit.

Throughout her life, Catarina was known for her vibrant personality and varied interests. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, finding peace in the beauty of her creativity. Gardening was another passion, as she loved nurturing her plants and watching them flourish. Going to dances as a young girl with her sisters filled her heart with joy, and her appreciation for music, especially that of Julio Iglesias, added a soulful rhythm to her life. Pink and salmon were her favorite colors, and she had an affection for roses, often invoking the phrase "Si Diosito Quiere" in her daily life. Catarina was a devout Catholic and actively participated in the 1st Baptist Church, where she was known for her faith and service to the Lord. Her love and devotion were primarily for her family, demonstrating a commitment to fostering strong connections and lasting memories.

She now joins her deceased family members, her parents, Sabastian Quintanilla and Francisca Vasquez, as well as her son, Benjamin Ceja, and her siblings: Francisco Quintanilla, Ismael Quintanilla, Natividad Quintanilla, Genoveva Quintanilla, Presilano Quintanilla, Enrique Quintanilla, Isreal Quintanilla, and Alvaro Gabino Quintanilla Ortiz. Each of them contributed to the foundation of Catarina's life and will undoubtedly welcome her with open arms.

Though she has departed from this world, the love and memories of Catarina Quintanilla Ceja will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, leaving an enduring impact on her family and community.

A visitation for Catarina will be held at Neal Funeral Home 200 S Washington Ave Cleveland, Texas 77327, on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
