Daniel "Pete" Sampson, a cherished soul who touched the hearts of many, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Kingwood, Texas. Born on March 17, 1952, in Rolla, Missouri, he embodied a simple yet profound life that inspired those around him.

A faithful servant to the Lord, Pete's unwavering belief and deep love for his faith were pivotal in shaping his character. He was not just a man of conviction, but a loving son, brother, and father. Pete's dedication to his family and friends was evident in every interaction, highlighting the depth of his relationships. He was described as a simple, firm, fair, and consistent man—qualities that endeared him to others and made him a pillar of strength in his community.

Pete proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a testament to his bravery and dedication. His military service not only represented a commitment to his nation but also instilled in him values of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

In his leisure time, Pete found joy in the tranquil moments spent fishing, the camaraderie of playing pool, and the solitude of playing solitaire. These hobbies not only provided him with relaxation but also opportunities to connect with friends and family, strengthening the bonds he held dear.

He is survived by his beloved granddaughter, Denae Ileen Tuley, who brought immense joy to his life, and his close friend, buddy, and brother-in-Christ, Sam Houston, who shared in his laughter and faith.

Though Pete leaves behind a deep void with his passing, his spirit endures in the memories of those who loved him. He joins his parents, Lester Irwin Sampson and Mary Emma Sampson; his brothers, George Sampson and Gary Sampson; and his daughter, Joyce Marie Sampson, who have welcomed him into eternal peace.
