David Allen Jones "Deda"

David Allen Jones was born in Albany, Georgia on August 2,1956. He was a family man who always showed up for everything, especially for the children in his life.

He grew up in NE Louisiana and went to school in Vivian. When David was 18 he moved to Houston to go to the Pipefitting Apprentice School. He became a Journeyman Pipefitter and belonged to Pipefitters Local Union 211 for 35 years.

David was a talented guitar player, country music singer and songwriter. He taught himself to play the guitar and practiced with his lifelong friend, Tommy Simmons, every weekend. He started out at local talent shows in 1998 and started a weekend business of local gigs singing with background tapes and bands. He played and sang up to a year before he passed.

He is survived by his wife Bobbie Jones, his daughter Wendy Kelly and her husband Casey; brothers Ricky Jones and wife Cheryl, and Harold Jones Jr; sisters Sharon Miller, Jonie Smith and her husband Jerry, Cindy Jones; sister in laws Phillis Hamilton and her husband Eddie Hamilton and Karen Jones; his grandchildren Madison Jones and fiancé Eric Garrett, Jory Hedinger, Kiley Kelly, and Kendall Kelly; Great grandchildren Heidi Jones, Carter Jones and Maverick Garrett. David also left behind many nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents Harold Jones Sr and Betty Jones, his daughter Jana Lynn Jones; and his sister, Debbie Jones.

His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who had the privilege to know him.

Visitation will be held on May 1, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by funeral service at 6:00 pm at Neal Funeral Home 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland Texas.
