Donald William Packer, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 5, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 9, 1950, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Donald lived a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to his family and community.

With a remarkable career spanning 56 years, Donald dedicated his professional life as a security guard, serving at the Texas Department of Corrections, Georgia Pacific, and Western Forge. His unwavering commitment to his work was a testament to his strong character and responsibility.

A graduate of high school, Donald possessed a hands-on approach to life, often expressing his love for the outdoors through activities such as working out in his yard, fishing, and camping. He could frequently be found riding his golf cart, enjoying the simple pleasures of life. His compassionate spirit shone through in the way he cherished time spent with his family.

Donald was a proud veteran, having served in both the Navy and the National Guard. His sense of duty extended beyond his military service, as he was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Coldspring, Texas, where he served The Lord with dedication.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Jennie Knepp Packer, alongside his daughters: Candi Sellers, Peggy Packer, Beth Camp and her husband James, and Tina Hollingsworth and her husband J.D. Reynolds, as well as his son, Marc Johnson and his wife Kari Johnson. His legacy is carried on by his extensive family, including twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, all of whom adored him. He is also mourned by other loving family members and friends who held him dear.

Donald will be remembered fondly by those he leaves behind, including the memories created with his family and friends throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Packer, Sr., mother, Esther Kitting Packer, brother, Russell Packer, sister, Barb Packer Brown, and beloved son-in-law, William Sellers, Sr. He was also predeceased by his son, John Knepp and granddaughter, Kayla Knepp.

Visitation will be held at Neal Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas, on May 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Squires Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

Donald William Packer, Jr., will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for his family.
