Dustin Alex
Roby
May 1, 1988 — Jul 3, 2026
Dustin Alex Roby, born on May 1, 1988, in Corsicana, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2026, in Cleveland, Texas. His life touched many, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, accomplishment, and unwavering spirit.
From the moment Dustin entered the world, he carried with him an indomitable spirit and a heart full of adventure. Dustin was known to his family and friends as a “dare devil”—fearless and enthusiastic, always finding excitement in life’s opportunities and challenges.
Dustin graduated with the Normangee High School class of 2006. As a student, he quickly made a name for himself both in the classroom and on the field. He was a football star for the Panthers, proudly wearing number 62. His competitive spirit shone through not just in football, but also in his love for baseball and golf, which he enjoyed playing throughout his life. Off the field, Dustin’s hands were often busy working on cars—a hobby that combined his passion for problem-solving with a love for mechanics.
Dustin served his country with honor and distinction as a U.S. Air Force Veteran, including a tour of duty in Afghanistan. His commitment to service, courage under pressure, and steadfast reliability earned the admiration of those he served alongside. Dustin’s time in the military profoundly shaped his character, instilling discipline and deepening his dedication to those around him.
His legacy is deeply felt by those who survive him: his fiance of two years, Anna Jackson; his mother, Tina Billington and husband Allen Billington; his brother, John Roby and wife Virginia; his sisters, Cara Roby and wife Emily Coltharp, and Sara Roby and husband John Recinos; his grandfather, Bob Cunningham; his nieces, Autumn Hall and Cayce Bilodeau; his aunt, Angela Cates and husband Don; his cousins, Donnie Cates and Jeanette Cates; and his very best friend of many years, Christine Granados. Each of them can recall moments of laughter, encouragement, and shared adventure with Dustin, memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Dustin is preceded in death by his father, Carlton Rex Roby; his grandfather, Charles Roby; his grandmothers, Maxine Roby and Shirley Stanley; and his aunt, Sharon Dunning. They, too, remain an enduring part of his story, and their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved Dustin.
A respectful graveside service to honor and celebrate Dustin’s life will be held at Houston National Cemetery on July 14, 2026, beginning at 2:15 p.m. at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
