As a dedicated machinist, he could fix nearly anything that came his way, earning the respect and admiration of those who knew him.

Ernest took great joy in the simple yet profound wonders of nature, finding peace in watching thunder and lightning dance across the sky. He possessed an innate curiosity about the world, which made him a true computer enthusiast, always eager to explore the latest electrical innovations. His passion for all things mechanical and technological was a hallmark of his character, and he shared this fascination with everyone around him.

Ernest's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was devoted to his wife Sharon, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage for the past 31 years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and memories. Ernest's heart swelled with pride for his children, Stephen, Colby, and Jarod, whom he cherished deeply. His role as a father was one he embraced with open arms, guiding and encouraging his sons in all their pursuits.

The warmth of Ernest's spirit extended into his relationships with his grandchildren, Leonardo, Oliver, and Emmerson. They brought him immense joy, and he treasured the moments spent with them, nurturing their imaginations and sharing in their adventures. Alongside his immediate family, he is survived by his mother, Melinda Kruse; his brother, Brent, and sister-in-law, Lisa; and his dear nieces, Emma and Madeline Kruse. Each of these relationships enriched Ernest’s life, creating a tightly-knit family bond that will endure beyond his passing.

Ernest's legacy is one of love and resilience. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy, a testament to his commitment to serving others and his country. He was preceded in death by his father, William George Kruse; his maternal grandmother, Jimmie Witsaman; his maternal grandfather, Ernest Branch Norman; and his paternal grandmother, Fern E. Kruse. These loved ones remain in the hearts of all who knew Ernest, creating a rich tapestry of life lessons and memories passed down through generations.

In honor of Ernest's memory, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Church 13200 FM 2025 Cleveland, TX 77328 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
