Obituary

Frances "Susie" Kinder, born on November 23, 1942, in Tyler, Texas, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2026, in Shepherd, Texas. She was a beloved member of the community, whose kind and caring nature touched the lives of many. She loved Jesus and was all about her family.

Susie attended college at Tyler Junior College where she won “Best Posture Competition” and her Dive Team went to State Finals. Susie was known widely for her dedicated career as a regional bookkeeper for Kmart, where she worked for many years. She cherished her job and formed many lasting friendships through her work. Beyond her professional life, Susie was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church in Cleveland, Texas, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to her community.

A loving mother and wife, Susie’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her husband, Herman (Hank) Kinder, whose steadfast partnership was a source of strength and comfort. Her children, Sherri Whitfield and her husband Tony, Rocky Jackson, Rhonda Ross, Ivy Kinder and his wife Pheby, Roger Kinder, Matthew Kinder, and Carolyn Ross, carry forward her legacy of love and warmth. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Summer and husband Richie, Starla, Chloe, Megan, Jasmine, Daniel, Hank, Steven, Justyn, Jewel, Trevor, Shelby, Lil Roger, Jason, Lance, and Raylyn. Her love extended to her Great Grandchildren, Trent, Tripp, Tabi, Krista, Dawson, Wyatt, Cash, Greycen, Zeke, Zakiyah, and Aaliyah. All together 28, and 6- great-great-grandchildren.

Susie was also remembered fondly for her hobbies, which included sewing and reading romance novels, activities that showcased her creative spirit and love for quiet reflection. She loved watching westerns, singing, and swimming and loved Christmas and everything about it.

The family mourns the loss of several loved ones who preceded her in death: her father, Alfred Gordon Hobbs; her mother, Edna Frances Arnold; her sister, Elizabeth (Beth) Pearson; her brother, Gordon Hobbs Jr.; her son, Tony Wayne Jackson; and her grandchildren, Brandon Koch, Megan Leigh Ross, and Trinity Kinder.

A visitation to honor and remember Frances "Susie" Kinder will be held at Neal Funeral Home, 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, Texas 77327, on June 8, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the same location on June 9, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, her interment will follow at Squire Cemetery.

Frances "Susie" Kinder’s legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will endure in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of compassion and the profound impact one person can have on the lives of others. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
