Obituary

It is with deep respect that we remember and honor the life of G.H. White, who passed away on April 15, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on January 4, 1939, in Kerens, Texas, G.H. lived a life marked by dedication, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

G.H. was a distinguished businessman who made his mark as a successful Marine Broker. His career reflected not only his keen business acumen but also his commitment to integrity and professionalism. Those who knew him well will remember him fondly for his thoughtful advice, often beginning with, “What I would do if I were you...” followed by a detailed and engaging discourse, concluding with, “Now that's the end of my lecture.” These moments captured the essence of G.H.'s character — knowledgeable, caring, and always ready to share his insights with a generous spirit.

His educational journey began with his graduation from Tarkington High School in 1957. He went on to further his education at the University of Houston, where he graduated from Business School, laying the foundation for his successful career.

Beyond his professional achievements, G.H. was a loving father and grandfather, roles he cherished deeply. He was known for his warm and nurturing personality, always holding his family close to his heart. He leaves behind Joyce White, Wes White, Carman White, Cole White, and Paige White; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family who carried with them the warmth of his presence. Salem, the ranch cat, was also an integral part of his family circle.

G.H.’s interests and hobbies reflected a man who was both practical and passionate. An avid reader, he found joy in tinkering with equipment and indulged in his love for baling hay and trading equipment. He had a special fondness for John Deere tractors—a symbol of his connection to both work and the land he valued.

His legacy is also remembered through those who preceded him in death: his father, Joe Havron White; his mother, Ruth Inez Jones; and his brother, Joe Luther White. Their memory remains alive in the hearts of those who loved G.H.

The family wishes to extend their love and heartfelt gratitude to Josie Alejandro for being a compassionate and dedicated friend to the White family.

G.H. White’s life was a testament to hard work, wisdom, and above all, love. Though he has passed, the values he lived by and the memories he created will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a devoted family man, a successful professional, and a kind soul who touched many lives.

A visitation to remember the life G.H. lived will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. A Homecoming Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the same location. G.H. will be laid to rest at Boothe Cemetery in Tarkington, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tarkington Volunteer Fire Dept. at 22353 TX-321, Cleveland, Texas 77327. Phone - 281-592-7800
