Gladys Faye
Shirley
Mar 10, 1945 — Oct 17, 2026
Gladys Faye Shirley, of Splendora, Texas, joined her heavenly Father on October 17, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on March 10, 1945, in Houston, Texas.
Gladys will be remembered as a faithful servant to the Lord and as someone who loved her family and friends very much. In her early years, she began building the life and family that remained at the center of her heart throughout the years. She married the love of her life at a young age and lived a full life raising her children. She found joy in sewing and crafting for her loved ones, and she also loved her flowers. These simple gifts and interests reflected her caring nature and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
She is welcomed into the gates of heaven by her husband, George H. Shirley Sr.; her son, Bobby Lee Shirley; her grandsons, George H. Shirley III and Timothy Serafini; her sisters, Lucy Rogers and Betty Owens; her brothers, George Schmidt and Albert Schmidt; her brother-in-law, Henry Curry; and her son-in-law, David.
Gladys leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, George H. Shirley Jr. and his wife Roxann, Gloria Serafini, and Jessie J. Shirley and his wife Dana. She is also survived by her grandchildren David, Katrina, Victoria, Sebrina, Leland, Raymond, Tiffany, Angel, Christina, Shawn, Jordan, Tyler, and Emily; her sisters, Patricia Howard and husband Phillip Kurtz, and Lillian Curry; and many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know her and love her.
Gladys’s life was rooted in faith, family, and love. She gave of herself in ways both large and small, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
All arrangements to be handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home.
