Harold Ray Champlin, a grandfather, father, brother, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on November 7, 1946, Harold touched the lives of many during his remarkable journey filled with love, service, and creativity.
Harold’s legacy as a U.S. Navy Veteran is one deeply etched in honor; he served his country bravely during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his fellow veterans was evidenced by his active involvement with the American Legion Post #0345, where he found camaraderie and support among his peers.
From a young age, Harold displayed a remarkable gift for building and creating. He was hands-on with his passions, often found working on cars or engaged in carpentry projects that showcased his ingenuity. In the quieter moments of his life, Harold enjoyed watching old Western movies, infusing his days with nostalgia and grit. Time spent with his sister Phyllis and brother-in-law Steve were cherished moments that brought him great joy, forging a bond of love and laughter that lasted a lifetime.
Harold leaves behind his children, Hansen Rory Champlin and wife Liz, Jason Ray Champlin and wife Roni, Randy Wyatt Champlin, and Joseph Matthew Champlin and partner Justine Spira, who carry forward his spirit in their lives. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Tuttle, and husband Steve; his brothers Bobby Kay Champlin, and Donald Lee Champlin, and wife Brenda. They, along with Harold's grandchildren, other loving family members, and his treasured friends, hold onto the cherished memories of a man who was not only a source of strength but a heartwarming presence in their lives.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Rondall Champlin and Susie Viola Harris, and the memories of his departed wives, Patricia Champlin, Cynthia Wheatman, and Teri Haavik. His sister, Virginia Bower, also welcomed him with open arms into eternal rest.
Though Harold may no longer walk among us, his spirit remains alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering love are legacies that will endure through the generations he leaves behind. As we remember Harold Ray Champlin, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey of valor, and an unwavering affection for family and friends. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
