Hollis Lamar Watson Sr., born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on April 4, 1946, and passed away on May 18, 2025, at his home in New Caney, Texas doing what he loved to do, with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy of 30 years. His loving children Kimberly Willett, Tammie Hopkins-Ruddick (Johnny R), Angela McAdams, Stephanie Watson, Hollis (Bubba) Watson Jr., Christinna Neal (Johnny N); grandchildren, Daniel Willett (Ashley), Clifford McAdams (Tanya), Leslie Hopkins (Stacie), Douglas Willett (Jessica), Marci McAdams, Lonnie McAdams (Morgan), Dustin Hopkins (Stephanie), Chandler Neal (Kaylin), Sara Watson, Monique Neal and JT Bible; Brother Jimmy Watson (Janice) and Sister Inez Dibari. Hollis also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his memories.

Hollis is preceded in death by his parents Sammy Watson and Gladys Pigg; siblings Kaylop, Sally, Steve and Floyd Watson.; son-in-law Little Bill; grandson Jacob Neal; great grandson Hudson Neal; Mother and Father-in-law Joe Otis Elton Sr. and Marie Estelle Franklin; Grandparents Fern and Melvin Hill; sisters-in-law Virginia Shelton, Jo Ellen Carlan and Betty Jean Baudat and brother-in-law Joe Otis Elton Jr.

Hollis was a man of many names such as Joe, Honey, Dad, Papa Joe, Poppie and many more that have been given to him by the people he loved. He retired from Campbell Redimix in 2011 after working hard for 15+ years but that didn’t keep him still. He was the main caregiver to his wife who always kept him on his toes. He loved to be outside doing many things that included fishing, working to fix things in the yard, looking up in the trees and caring for the ones he held dear to him.

A visitation for Hollis Lamar Watson Sr. will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, Texas 77327. A funeral Service will be held the following day, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, Texas. Honorary Hollis as Pallbearers are Daniel Willett, Douglas Willett, Clifford McAdams, Leslie Hopkins, Dustin Hopkins, Johnny Neal, and Chandler Neal; and Jaxsyn Hatten as Honorary Pallbearer.
