Ida LaVerne Pugh, born on September 23, 1944, in Nacogdoches, Texas, peacefully departed this life on September 20, 2025, in Cleveland, Texas. She was a beloved figure in the lives of her family and friends, leaving behind cherished memories filled with love and joy.
LaVerne cultivated a meaningful career in the oil and gas industry, where she served as an accounting clerk for many years. Her dedication and work ethic were admired by her colleagues, and she took great pride in her contributions to the industry.
A woman of deep faith and spirit, Ida found great joy in singing in the church choir. Her uplifting voice resonated through the hearts of many, providing comfort and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of hearing her. Beyond her professional endeavors and musical talents, she had a passion for crochet, creating beautiful works that reflected her warmth and creativity.
LaVerne was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her unwavering love. She is survived by her 2 children, Shannon Eberhardt, and Gregory Pugh. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Alex Davis, Sarah-Michelle Critchfield, Hunter Pugh, Blake Eberhardt, and Cody Eberhardt, along with her ten great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lorenzo Roebuck and Ruthie Mae Bell Roebuck, her brother, Herschelle Roebuck, her son-in-law, Hoke Eberhardt, and her great-granddaughter, Maddie Davis.
LaVerne's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. A service in honor of her life will be held on October 4, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, Texas at 10:00 am. Burial Service will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery in Cleveland , Texas. Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating the remarkable life of this extraordinary woman who encompassed love and kindness in all that she did.
