IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Eldon
Hall
November 22, 1945 – February 5, 2026
James Eldon Hall, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born on November 22, 1945, in Brownswood, Texas. He peacefully departed this world on February 5, 2026, in Cleveland, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the Medal of Good Conduct and was awarded the prestigious Purple Heart for his bravery during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he dedicated himself to a career that spanned over two decades with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an agent. Following that, he devoted an additional 20 years as a security guard for Texas Pipe, demonstrating his commitment to protecting and serving his community.
His educational pursuits led him to earn a Master’s Degree, an achievement he valued greatly. James enjoyed a unique upbringing; the first four years of his life were spent with his grandparents before he reunited with his parents, where he shared his days with stepsisters and a brother, along with a half-sister, whom said "bullied" him, but with love. Despite the challenges of family dynamics, he cherished the love that surrounded him.
James was known for his warm personality, often described as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His enthusiasm for life extended beyond his family; he had a passion for woodworking and gardening, hobbies that reflected his creativity and love for the outdoors.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Hall. James's family includes his children, Katie Wahl, Danny Hall, Jimmy Hall, Charissa Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, and many unofficially adopted kids along the way, all of whom he loved fiercely. He took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Matthew Wahl, Gabreille Wahl, Melinda Wahl, Trinity Wahl, Johnathan Wahl, Gina Whithead, John Whithead, Taryn Rodriguez, Dylan Rodriguez, Ariane Rodriguez, Lucas Rodriguez, Joshua Rodrigues, and David Rodriguez. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Keith Rodriguez, Nathan Johns, Teddy Rodriguez, and a yet-to-arrive great-grandbaby girl.
James leaves behind siblings Pat Brumbley, Carolyn Hall, Joe Halford, and Kathy Wilson, who will surely miss the light he brought into their lives.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Eldon Hall, his son Johnny Rodriguez, and his granddaughter Crystal Ray. His absence is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with everyone around him.
