James Richard White, aka Jim, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully on Oct. 24, 2025 at his home in Cleveland, Texas. Born on July 21, 1956 in Roswell, New Mexico. Jim worked hard at his profession as a self employed heavy equipment mechanic.
Throughout his 39 years of marriage, his wife, Darlene, stood by him in his many endeavors and adventures which created a very fulfilling and interesting life. Together they nurtured a home filled with laughter and joy where love was paramount.
Jim had a passion to explore and learn. Whether it was a hobby or a job he wanted to accomplish, he studied and taught himself. At a very young age he taught himself to play the guitar and harmonica. Growing up he learned basic mechanic by hands on work and his Dad. Jim loved music, computers and gadgets. He was passionate about animals and was a bird lover. His vibrant spirit extended beyond his family and he formed deep connections with many friends all of whom appreciated his genuine personality. The privileged to know him were often treated to stories of his adventures, particularly reflecting his interest in fishing and playing his guitar which brought happiness and laughter at so many gatherings. He found pride in being a collector, amassing various treasures over the years, a whimsical hobby that his loved ones deemed "hoarding" yet these collections represented a life lived fully, a testament to his curious spirit and rich experience.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Alfred White. He is survived by his Step Mother, Gloria White, his wife, Darlene, Brother: Timothy (Tim) White, Niece: Harley White and fiancé, Layne Connevey, Niece, Timbra White, fiancé, Benjamine Tamez, Great niece Kennedy and 2 great nephews, Benjamin and Jesse.
Acquired by marriage: Step-son: Adam Terrell, Ernest Sullivan and wife, Yolanda. Grandchildren: Travis Terrell, Natalie Terrell, Promise Terrell, Treasure Terrell, Julian Sullivan, Savian Sullivan and Great-granddaughter: Lilly Terrell, Avery and Skylar.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Rosewood Memorial Park in Porter, Texas at 1:00 PM All services are being handled under the trusted care of Neal Funeral Home
