Jose Luis Nevarez, a devoted father, beloved son, and cherished brother, entered into rest on April 17, 2026. Born on June 18, 1973, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Jose Luis lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and the deep love of family and friends.
From his earliest days, Jose Luis was a spirited and well-behaved child, known for his mischievous yet charming nature. He delighted in building Legos, fishing, and exploring the underwater world through scuba diving. These early pursuits reflected a deep curiosity and a zest for life that stayed with him through adulthood. As a car enthusiast, he had a particular fondness for antique cars and the thrilling world of car races, which provided him with endless excitement and inspiration.
Jose was not only a master behind the wheel but also behind the grill. Renowned among his family and friends as an outstanding chef and grill master, he brought people together with his culinary talents, sharing meals that became treasured memories. However, above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his children, Joel Sebastian Nevarez and Sophia Nicole Nevarez, and his family. The moments he created with them were the heart of his life’s story—a testament to his unconditional love and devotion.
Jose Luis also cherished every opportunity to be with his parents, Alfredo Nevarez and Margarita Ortiz, and his siblings, Luis Alfredo Nevarez, Luis Guillermo Nevarez, Miguel Angel Nevarez, Carlos Nevarez, Johana Nevarez, Angel Alfredo Nevarez, Isamar Nevarez, and the late Wilfredo Nevarez, his brother who passed before him. His circle of love extended beyond his family to include his beloved fur babies, Hope and Faith, and his close friends such as Melissa Moquette, Rudy Lopez, Roland Milburn, Aaron Wisdom, Dusten Riddle, John Williams, and Juan Santamaria, alongside many other beloved family members and treasured friends who filled his life with warmth and companionship.
Jose Luis’s life was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was a man who embraced every moment with a full heart, whether navigating the open road or creating joyful memories with those he held dear. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the legacy of warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit he leaves behind will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation in honor of Jose's memory will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., followed by a funeral service at 5:00 P.M., both located at Neal Funeral Home 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, Texas 77327.
