Judy Mae Carey, 75, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on September 3, 2026, in Cleveland. She was born on July 19, 1951, in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska.

Judy will be remembered with love by those who knew her and by the family who shared her life. She is survived by her husband, Donald Wilson, with whom she shared 10 years of marriage. She also leaves behind her daughter, Jennifer LoRae Woody, and Jennifer’s wife, Margaret; and her son, Daylan Neil Day, and his wife, Lindsey. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, McKenna Day-Alvarado, Luke Bauer, Brayden Bauer, Connie Woody, Sophia Bauer, and DayDen Day, as well as by her great-grandchildren, Inias, Dennis, MaDalyn, Mason, and Maddox. Judy is further survived by her brother, Randy Green, and his wife, Donna, and by her sister, Connie Browne, and her husband, Jim. Each of them carries forward the love, connection, and family bond that were such an important part of Judy’s life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roscoe Cyrus Green; her mother, Etta Lorraine Haynes Wilson; her brother, Ronnie Green; and her sister, Dettie Swaim.

Judy loved the outdoors where she would go hunting, fishing and would work in her garden. She also was very crafty. Judy would make beautiful wire wrapping jewelry and also loved sewing and crocheting things would showcase her talent. Judy will be remembered for her famous chicken fried steak that she would make for her family every time they would come into town.

Judy’s life was centered in the love of her family, and her passing leaves a deep absence in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort to her family and remain a lasting blessing to all who hold her close. 

A memorial service for Judy Mae Carey will be held at her home, 9911 Plum Grove Rd. in Cleveland, Texas 77327 on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
