Obituary

Lino Emiliano Hernandez, born on September 11, 2008, in Houston, Texas, entered the kingdom of heaven on June 13, 2026. Though his time with us was far too brief, Lino's vibrant spirit and heartfelt passion touched the lives of all who knew him.

A devoted 11th grader at Cleveland High School, Lino was as dedicated to his studies as he was to his many pursuits outside the classroom. He shined brightly on the varsity soccer team and proudly played for Union Deportiva Los Barrios in España, showcasing his talent and commitment to the sport he loved. Beyond his athletic achievements, it was Lino’s warm and lively personality that truly defined him—he was a jokester and prankster, always ready with laughter and a twinkle in his eye.

Lino possessed deep faith and was a faithful servant to the Lord, a guiding light in his young life. His love extended beyond people to his cherished mini-Schnauzer, Cholito, who was a constant companion and a source of joy. Among his cherished activities, cooking was a particular joy, especially preparing steak. Above all, Lino held a profound admiration and love for his father, whom he called his hero—a bond that defined much of his spirit and courage.

Lino leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts: his parents, Lino Leonides Hernandez and Teresa De Jesus Gutierrez; his brother, Angel Manuel Hernandez; his sister, Yesenia Ereth Hernandez; his grandfather, Platon Gutierrez; and his grandmother, Maria Del Rosario Anzueto. He was also deeply cherished by his uncles Luis Hernandez, Antonio Gutierrez, Ricardo Hernandez, and Jose Castillo; aunts Neyda Hernandez, Brenda Gutierrez, Vanessa Gutierrez, and Maria Del Rosario Gutierrez; along with many other loving relatives and treasured friends whose lives he blessed.

Lino’s family mourns not only his loss but also remembers those who went before him: his grandfather Luis Hernandez Guerrero, his grandmother Macaria Mola Guerrero, and his great-grandfather Felix Gutierrez Furtuna. Their legacies live on in the family’s enduring strength.

Though Lino’s laughter and light have been dimmed too soon, his memory shines brightly, a testament to a young soul who inspired with humor, kindness, faith, and an unyielding love for family. May he rest in peace forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.

A visitation in honor of Lino’s life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home, 200 S. Washington Ave, Cleveland, Texas 77327.
