Cleveland

Lou Ann “Lulu” Barrow, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 20, 2025, in Cleveland, Texas. Born on February 4, 1958, in Conroe, Texas, Lulu lived a life filled with love, compassion, and a deep devotion to her family and friends.

Lulu was known for her outgoing personality, strong spirit, and caring heart. She attended Splendora ISD, where she proudly twirled in the school band. Her passion for music stayed with her throughout her life—she had a beautiful voice and often sang at family weddings and church gatherings, creating treasured memories for all who heard her.

Lulu found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the outdoors, especially time spent at the beach or lake, and had a zest for travel and meeting new people. Her laughter was infectious, and she had a remarkable ability to bring happiness wherever she went.

Above all, Lulu’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife to Bennie “Skip” Barrow, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years of marriage built on love, respect, and friendship. She was a proud and loving mother to Jeremy Bratton and his wife Sonja, CJ Barrow and his husband Wes Hicks, and Stephanie Barrow-Garcia and her husband Cannan. As “Meemaw,” Lulu adored her grandchildren—Madison Bratton, Brandon Young, Ethan Bratton, Peyton Bratton, Octavian Barrow-Garcia, Tanner Hicks-Barrow, and Zachariyah Barrow-Garcia—each of whom brought immense joy to her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband, her children, her beloved grandchildren, and her siblings: Jesse Owen Giles, Barbara Giles, and Marvin Gregory and his wife Diane. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Lulu was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Martha Giles.

Lulu Barrow’s radiant spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all she touched.
