Obituary

Margaret Louise Denton, born October 10, 1941, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Cleveland, Texas, at the age of 84. Her long and extraordinary journey on this earth leaves an enduring legacy of faith, family, and heartfelt devotion.

To those privileged to know her, Margaret was a faithful servant to the Lord and someone who held deep love and respect for her country. Her steadfast commitment to her faith coursed through every aspect of her life, shaping her into a source of unwavering support, kindness, and inspiration. She led by quite example, infusing her days with compassion, humility, and warmth.

Family formed the very center of Margaret’s world. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Evelyn Johnson and husband Ocey Paul, John Bennett and wife Donna, Monica Herren and husband Bobby, Jimmy Denton and wife Susan, Johnny Denton and wife Amy, as well as her bonus children Keith Carrell, David Carrell and wife Norma, and Tina Carrell-Jones. Margaret’s sister, Ruth Burgess, also survives her, sharing in the treasured memories and bonds that only sisters know. She also leaves behind her beloved puppy, Cash Aaron. Each of these family members is a testament to her nurturing spirit, guidance, and the unconditional love she so freely gave.

The loss of Margaret reunites her in spirit with those who journeyed before her, including her father, Lewis Varner; her mother, Marie Forest Clinton; her step-father, Oren Paul Hill; her beloved husband, Jimmy Denton Sr.; and her children, William Edwin Bennett, Paul Bennett, and Michelle LeAnne Denton. Margaret's heart was a vast and nurturing home for her beloved 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Her love for them was profound and unwavering, a legacy of devotion that will be cherished forever. Though these reunions offer comfort, their absence is deeply felt among those who remain.

Margaret’s life, marked by abiding faith and an unwavering devotion to those she loved, reached far beyond immediate family. Her generosity of spirit, loving nature, and steadfast values left an imprint that continues to shape all who knew her. The comfort she provided, the lessons she shared, and the strength she exhibited during times of hardship are cherished now more than ever.

Margaret Louise Denton’s memory will remain a blessing and a guide for generations to come, illuminating their paths with the same hope, grace, and kindness with which she graced this world. Those who carry her memory forward will forever honor her legacy of love and faith.
