Si no encontrabas a María, había muchas posibilidades de que estuviera en la cocina, cocinando algo delicioso y asegurándose de que todos tuvieran de comer. Por encima de todo, la familia de María era su orgullo y alegría. Amaba a su familia y amigos con todo su corazón y atesoraba cada momento que pasaba con ellos. Sus nietos eran su mundo, y el amor que sentía por ellos era inconmensurable. Se enorgullecía mucho de ver crecer a su familia y encontraba la felicidad rodeada de las personas que más amaba.

Le sobreviven su querido esposo de 34 años, Francisco Castillo; sus hijos, Vanessa Saavedra y su esposo Juan, Evelyn Castillo y su esposo James Hard, Aldo Castillo y su esposa Stephanie Hernández, Jakelyn Guzmán y su esposo Erik, Briana Castillo y Jayleene Castillo; sus nietos, Greyson Hard, Melanie Guzman, Elian Guzman y Alex Castillo; su padre, Galdino García; y a numerosos otros familiares, amigos y miembros de su comunidad que siempre atesorarán su memoria.

En honor al hermoso legado que deja María, la visita se celebrará el viernes 14 de agosto de 2026 en Neal Funeral Home, ubicada en 200 S. Washington Ave., Cleveland, Texas 77327, de 18:00 a 22:00. Se celebrará un Rosario esa misma noche a las 19:00. Se celebrará una misa funeral el sábado 15 de agosto de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica de la Inmaculada Concepción, ubicada en 411 Milam St., Liberty, Texas 77575, de 10:00. El entierro seguirá inmediatamente a la Misa de Funeral en el Cementerio Católico Liberty en Liberty, Texas.

Maria Del Rosario Castillo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and cherished friend, entered into eternal rest on August 7, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 52. She was born on February 22, 1974, in Granjenal, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Maria lived a life defined by love, faith, generosity, and devotion to the people around her. She had a heart for helping others and was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. She never wanted anyone to go without, and her kindness touched the lives of countless people. She was well known and deeply loved throughout her community, where her warm heart and caring spirit left a lasting impression.

Maria found great joy in music and dancing. She loved listening to music, enjoying the rhythm, and making memories with the people she loved. She also had a special gift in the kitchen. Cooking was one of the ways Maria expressed her love, and everyone who tasted her food knew just how much care she put into every meal. If you couldn't find Maria, there was a good chance she was in the kitchen, cooking something delicious and making sure everyone was fed. Her kitchen was more than a place to prepare food—it was a place where family and friends gathered, laughed, shared stories, and felt at home.

Above all else, Maria's family was her pride and joy. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart and treasured every moment spent with them. Her grandchildren were her world, and the love she had for them was immeasurable. She took great pride in watching her family grow and found happiness in being surrounded by the people she loved most.

Maria was also a faithful servant of the Lord. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she carried that faith with her in the way she loved, served, encouraged, and cared for others. Her generous spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering love reflected the faith she held so dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Francisco Castillo; her children, Vanessa Saavedra and husband Juan, Evelyn Castillo and husband James Hard, Aldo Castillo and wife Stephanie Hernandez, Jakelyn Guzman and husband Erik, Briana Castillo, and Jayleene Castillo; her grandchildren, Greyson Hard, Melanie Guzman, Elian Guzman, and Alex Castillo; her father, Galdino Garcia; and numerous other loving relatives, friends, and members of her community who will forever cherish her memory.

Maria is welcomed into the gates of heaven by her beloved mother, Jeronima Castillo, and her precious granddaughter, Gianna Elise Hard.

Maria Del Rosario Castillo leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will continue through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her love of music and dancing, her wonderful cooking, her devotion to her family, and the way she made others feel cared for and loved. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

In honor of the beautiful legacy Maria leaves behind, a visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S. Washington Ave., Cleveland, Texas 77327, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A Rosary will be held that same evening at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 411 Milam St., Liberty, Texas 77575, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at Liberty Catholic Cemetery in Liberty, Texas.
