Nader Arasteh, a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away on September 19, 2025, at the tender age of 22. Born on May 26, 2003, in Tehran, Iran, Nader was known for his kind spirit and vibrant personality, leaving an indelible impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Nader spent much of his childhood in Khorramabad, Iran, where he was part of the National Organization for the Development of Exceptionally Talented Students, a gifted and talented program for advanced students. At 17, he moved to Houston, Texas, alongside his sister, Nika, to live with their family in Houston, and continue their education abroad. Nader's academic journey culminated in his enrollment at the University of Houston, Main Campus, where he was set to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics in December of 2025.
Beyond academics, Nader’s passions extended to sports—he was an avid enthusiast who followed numerous teams and could recite statistics with the best of them. His dedication to sports was highlighted by his participation in both University and Community soccer leagues, and he was a devoted fan of the NBA star James Harden and the Buffalo Bills football team. Nader also possessed a talent for programming and was a fan of rock music, which added to his vibrant and dynamic character.
Nader is survived by his loving parents, Nasser Arasteh and Niloofar Kazemi Arasteh, and his sister, Nika Arasteh. He is also mourned by uncles Mohammad and Mohsen, aunts Effat, Joan, Pary, and Nasrin, cousins Zachary and Sasha Arasteh; along with many other cousins of the Arasteh and Kazemi families, along with a wide circle of friends and extended family who will forever cherish his memory.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Nader's life on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, located at 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077. Nader’s spirit and zest for life will be profoundly missed, yet he will always be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him.
