Obituary

Percy H. Chambers Jr. was born on March 10, 1940, and was raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated from high school in Pottsville, Texas. He later served in the US Army with the Fourth Armored Division, Pinder Barracks Germany. After his discharge, Percy worked in the oil field industry as a machinist. He then met and married a caring and wonderful lady, Ms. Loretta Kay. He could be quick witted with jokes and responses to questions that you would have no response to and leave you laughing, he was a firm, but also a caring man. A provider for his family, sometimes working multiple jobs at a time. He was a big LPGA fan, and could tell you maybe the female players that had won tournaments 10 years ago. A die hard University of Texas Longhorns fan, Percy bleeds Burnt Orange, but he did always pulls for the other Texas college teams, even the Aggies, TCU, SMU and Red Raiders, just as long as they were not playing against the Texas Longhorns.

Percy is preceded death by his wife, Loretta K. Chambers; his parents Percy and Lena Chambers; his sisters and brother: Flo Mae, Mary Beth, Irving, Lillian, and Helen. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Jennifer Kraus, her husband Jason Kraus; his granddaughter Sara Kraus; his son Benjamin H. J. Chambers; his nieces and nephews: Mrs. Katherine Pinotti and her family, Ms. Shirley Budnik and her family, Mr. Stephen Walters and his family, Mr. Jesse Ray Petty and his family, Mr. Richie and Mrs. Lara Hogan and their family, that live through the state of Texas, South Carolina, and Florida.

A graveside service for Percy will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Garden Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas, beginning at 2:00 PM.
