Our beloved mother, Relda Louise Parker, sadly passed away on August 3, 2024. Relda was born on June 2, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to parents Bryan Pete Padgett and Irene Roark Padgett, being the baby of 7 children. Relda's life was one filled with joy, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
Relda's kind and compassionate nature shone brightest in her role as a mother. Her children, Tracy Redden and Leslie "Bubba" Parker, Jr., were the light of her life, and she was always there to offer them guidance and support whenever they needed it. As a grandmother to Lacey, Sadie, Emma, Abby, Blake, Brinkley – and great-grandmother to Everly, Maleia, and Hallie – she showered them with unconditional love and taught them the true meaning of family.
A favorite aunt, devoted sister, and cherished friend to many, Relda's presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She spent many years working and traveling with her husband before eventually settling in Polk County, Texas to raise their family. Relda's recent 22-day road trip visiting breathtaking national parks, including Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park, as well as Durango, Colorado, and Las Vegas, Nevada, brought her immense happiness. It was a dream come true for Relda—one that showcased her adventurous spirit and zest for life.
The memory of Relda will forever be cherished by her surviving family: daughter, Tracy Redden and husband Larry; son Leslie "Bubba" Parker Jr. and wife Krystal; grandchildren Lacey Villa (husband Johnathan), Sadie Parker, Emma Redden, Abby Redden, Blake Baggett, and Brinkley Baggett; great-grandchildren, Everly Fontenot, Maleia Villa, and Hallie Villa; brother-in-law Charlie Parker (wife Angie); sister-in-law, Margie Padgett.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Bryan Pete Padgett and Irene Roark Padgett; husband, Leslie R. Parker, Sr.; sisters, Virginia Pearson, Maydie Malone, Dorothy Dillard, and Helen Currie; brothers, Roland "Red" Padgett and Henry Worth "Shorty" Padgett.
"Our hearts refuse to accept what it knows to be true...you are no longer here with us. The day you left, a part of us was taken with you and it was in that moment we understood the piercing reality of a heart shattered by loss." If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. We will miss you always.
