Robert Dee Fenley, Sr. of Lufkin, Texas, was born on January 20, 1941, and passed away on January 6, 2026. His journey to heaven was surely joyful as he got to see Jesus face to face and be reunited with his beloved wife, Bill, once again. Robert and Bill shared an extraordinary love story. He met her when he was 13 years old and knew she was the only one for him. They were married on May 30, 1959, at the age of 18. They remained devoted to one another until her passing in 2021.

The greatest joys of Robert’s life were his family and his church. He was blessed with a large extended family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and he cherished every moment spent surrounded by them. Robert was a life-long member of Dunn’s Chapel Church of Christ, where he joyfully served God through faithful service to His people.

Robert proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving our country in multiple locations throughout the United States as well as in Panama and Germany. He retired from military service on November 30, 1980, having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. A man of honor and deep faith, Robert dedicated his life to serving his Lord and Savior, his family, and his country.

He lived with enthusiasm, embracing every opportunity with joy, whether it was singing in church, traveling, working on projects, fishing, or playing dominoes. He did not like to sit still and was always on the move. Everyone who met Robert walked away knowing they’d encountered someone truly special. He will be missed by his family, his church, and our community.

Robert is survived by his children, Brenda Kee of Lufkin, Bobby and Gwendy Fenley of Bullard, David and Melissa Fenley of Lufkin, and Pam and Bobby McAdams of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Josh and Halee Kee, Justin and Amber Kee, Rob and Haley Fenley, Garrett Fenley, Kaleb and Nicole Fenley, Sadie and Kevin McGee, Corbyn and Taylor Weeks, Chase Weeks, Jared and Ashten McAdams, Ryan and Lauran McAdams, Savannah McAdams; his great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brooke, Jade, River, Ryan, Ava, Lanie, Oliver, Sofia, Tryston, Faber, Fenley, Rylee, Cason, Brett, Rose, Jolie, Josey, and Kinsey. Robert is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Angie Fenley and Vivian Glass.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Vela “Bill” Fenley, his parents, Dan and Thelma Fenley, his brothers, Dan Ray Fenley and Tommy Fenley, and his granddaughters, Cendi and Wendi Fenley.

In loving memory of Robert Dee Fenley, Sr., we invite family and friends to join us for a graveside service dedicated to honoring his remarkable life. The service will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Aldredge Cemetery, located at FM 706, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
